Marvin Gaye Chetwynd Exhibit
Classical literature meets Hollywood next year as Nottingham Contemporary Art Centre welcomes the Turner Prize nominee Marvin Gaye Chetwynd. This is the first solo exhibition that Chetwynd has displayed in Britain and it will include a combination of her work combined with some performance.
The Waiting Room
Drawing outside, away from my studio is a real treat, especially when it seems difficult to find the time (and right weather conditions) to go out and sketch. One trick I have found to help me get around this is to take my sketchbook with me whenever I know I’ll be waiting around, be that the doctors, dentists or any other appointment!
Recently I have talen with me my new Caran D’Ache water reservoir pen along with a couple of Derwent Inktense blocks;
I find the Ink Black and Bark colours mixed together make a really nice…….

Sherwood Art Week 2014
We are one of the official sponsors of this years Sherwood Art week from Saturday 21st to Sunday 29th June.
If you live in our around Nottingham it’s really worth coming down to check it out.
One of the unique things that happens every year at the Sherwood Art week is the Art in the Shops, where local businesses show their support by showcasing some really talented work by local artists, local school groups, and members of the public. This is shown all week, so there’s always time to take a look.
On the first Saturday there will be the Secret Garden Craft Fair, which in addition to selling crafty pieces, will also be serving hot food….
