As the name suggests, Field easels are designed to be portable. They tend to be mid-sized to small and are great value for money and a good compromise if space is limited in your workroom or studio. As they fully fold up storage is not a problem making them ideal for plein air artists going landscape sketching, drawing or painting. Although not as stable as a studio easel, they still allow you to hold large-scale canvases whilst working. Some have it inbuilt storage allowing you to keep all your art equipment together whilst out and about.
