Christmas Shipping Information
The last recommended postage date for Christmas is one day before Royal Mail’s recommended ship-by date. (Check their website for exact dates—usually around December 18th.)
We do not ship from a few days before Christmas until the New Year. Any orders placed during the Christmas holidays will be shipped in the first post of the New Year.
Postage Costs
- Orders under £40: Postage costs are applied at checkout. (£4.25 Standard 48)
- Orders over £40: Free postage Standard 48 to UK mainland.
Some larger items and deliveries to the Highlands, Islands, and other remote areas may have additional charges. We will contact you if any extra costs apply.
Dispatch & Delivery Schedule
- Orders are shipped Monday – Friday (excluding public holidays).
- Delivery estimates are based on Monday – Friday only (weekends and bank holidays are excluded).
- Standard dispatch time: 1-2 working days after purchase. We aim to ship the next working day where possible, but this is not guaranteed.
Shipping Services
We use Royal Mail and couriers (Parcelforce) for deliveries.
- Small & lightweight items (under 2kg): Shipped via Royal Mail.
- Standard: Royal Mail 48 (2-5 days)
- Upgrade option: Royal Mail 24 (1-3 days, additional cost) (Available at checkout)
- Larger or heavier items: Shipped via courier (normally delivered within 48 hours, signature required).
- Tracking is available upon request.
- Deliveries to the Highlands and off-mainland UK may take 3-5 working days.
Shipping Costs & Off-Mainland UK Deliveries
- Royal Mail charges the same across the UK, but couriers charge extra for off-mainland UK.
- We include the cheapest UK mainland P&P in the price for orders over £40.
- If a courier charge applies, we will find the lowest price and refund any overpayment.
Courier Zones & Additional Charges
- Courier costs are included in the item price for Zone A & B.
- Zone C & D addresses require an additional payment before shipping.
- If your off-mainland postcode is not listed, we may not be able to ship to your address without arranging a suitable courier. Please contact us before ordering.

Zone A & Zone B have the P&P included in the purchase price.
Zone C is set at £5.95 per item over 2kg & Free under 2kg (price right @ 01-01-2013 subject to change without notice).
Zone D is set at £5.95 per item over 2kg & Free under 2 kg (price right @ 01-01-2013 subject to change without notice).
please note it may be cheaper for buyers in Zone C & D when buying smaller items in multiple orders if the extra P&P gets added to a single order.
Shipping Returns
Buyers must notify us within 14 days to return any item. Please contact us by email sales@localartshop.co.uk. If an item has not been received, please call or email.
P&P and costs are non-refundable for either direction and the item must be unused and in the same condition as sent. We charge you a relist fee (equal to the costs of postage and packaging) for returns unless the goods delivered were faulty.
For items damaged please contact us to sort it out. Proof of damage is required for claims, please retain all packaging.
Guarantee
It is our policy to guarantee all products sold by us are delivered in good condition and within the manufacturer’s quality tolerances. If the goods arrive damaged, incorrect or faulty, please notify us within 7 days of receipt.
We can not and do not guarantee delivery days or times.
Returning Goods
If the goods arrive damaged, incorrect or faulty, please notify us within 7 days of receipt. We will organise replacement or refund including cost of delivery.
If you receive an order and decide not to keep it, please notify us within 7 days of receipt of goods and return goods in their original condition within 14 days for a full refund.
Before returning any goods, please phone us on 0115 9401721 or email sales@localartshop.co.uk to explain the reason for return. We will give you an authorisation number which must be marked on the outside of the package. Please do not return any goods without the authorisation number.
We will also suggest the best way to return any goods.
If goods are faulty or have been sent in error the cost of returning the item will be refunded. If an item is returned for any other reason, the cost of returning the item is the customer’s responsibility
Get It Faster/ Express, Delivery
We offer an express delivery on items under 2kg at an additional cost. This is an upgrade from standard royal mail 48 tracked to royal mail 24 tracked.
Deliveries are subject to royal mail working practices and do not offer it as a guaranteed 1-3 day service but is shown as estimated time for delivery.
We reserve the right to use a different service if we deem it to be the better service for your item. Courier service is monday-friday.
We will aim to send out any order that is recieved before 10 am (Monday – Friday) after that it will be classed as the next days order.
Online Exclusive?
Items are not stored in our shop and are dispatched directly from our suppliers or ordered by request of confirmed orders to the shop.
Items normal are delivered in 3 working days of order but some item can take upto 6 weeks as limited stocks are held at our suppliers. Please call use if you have a time limit.
Christmas Shipping
We stop shipping a week before Christmas day and reopen the first Tuesday of the New Year. We may offer a limited postage service during this time. We do not guarantee times of dispatch or delivery.
We restart posting as usual in the New year. If you wish to cancel an order please call 0115 9401721 or email us and we will sort it out on our return.
Express service subject to delays too.
Online exclusive items will not be shipping until the New Year.
Online Exclusive
To offer the largest range of products on our website. We have some “online exclusive” deals that mean we use our supplier to send directly to you rather than stock in store.This does mean that we cut down on our overheads able to pass the savings on to you. Our suppliers will not use your contact details for anything other than the delivery of your product. We have built up a relationship with our suppliers over many years and trust them. We can arrange to have them sent directly to our shop. If you wish to pick up from the store, please contact a member of staff to arrange. Or if you prefer, we can arrange for us to receive the product and have it sent out via our carriers there is an additional charge for that.
